Detling  is a  village that has historical ties with the RAF

During WW2  Detling Aerodrome was used as part of the War  effort to defend " Old Blighty" against the Germans.

These days the nearby fields are used by Hang gliders, and Micro-lite enthusiasts.

During the Summer, regular shows and outside events take place at the nearby "Kent County Show Ground" with thousands of people visiting the area.  The Big event of the Year is  "The Kent County Show" held in July every year.

Detling Village itself is on the Pilgrims Way which is a favourite haunt of Walkers & Ramblers who trace the journey of the " Old Pilgrims" on their way to Canterbury. They often stop to rest and take Refreshment at The Cock Horse Inn,

This is my local pub which always provides a "Friendly Welcome" from Colin & Jackie as well as  Great Food, Fine Wines, Spirits and Beers.  On Some Nights  they provide Quiz Nights , Musical Entertainment ,Live Bands,
